OPTICOM
The new Santa Clara County Paramedic Ambulances, operated by Rural/Metro, are equipped with signal interruption technologies. In areas of the County with receivers, ambulances operating with lights and siren will be able to turn traffic signals green in the direction of travel and red in all other directions. This system will provide greater safety for ambulance personnel and drivers.
